Design Research Studio, the interior design practice within the Tom Dixon brand, was commissioned to renovate Alto, a renowned restaurant in Hong Kong. Alongside furniture from the existing Tom Dixon collection, the project required a series of bespoke pieces to give the interior its own character. Working closely with the DRS interior design team, I designed tables, cabinets, and display pieces with a strong presence in the space. To preserve Tom Dixon's material-driven aesthetic, I explored new forms using materials consistent with the brand's existing collection. Each piece was developed in relation to the surrounding furniture and overall interior, allowing it to maintain cohesion while establishing its own identity. A key piece was the TLR Display Table for the main lobby. Brass reinforced the brand's material identity, while its sculptural, origami-inspired structure introduced a distinctive expression for the space.
